4 Tips For Throwing An Epic Outdoor Party (With Picnic People)

Water balloons at picnic

Now that spring has sprung, families and businesses are looking for ways to enjoy the warm air and sunshine. Whether you’ve got a special occasion to celebrate, such as welcoming back or honoring employees, or you’re just looking for an excuse to spend time outdoors, a picnic is a great option to consider. Any flat, open space makes a great picnic venue.

Here are four steps to throwing an epic outdoor party that will be the talk of the town.

1. Obtain permission to use the space.

It’s important to make sure you have the rights to use the space before making party plans. Speak to the property manager to find out what you need to do to host a party. Picnic People will provide proof of insurance for the property management company.

Consider hosting the party on a Friday night or on the weekend to minimize disturbance to local tenants. Whether you’re hosting a lunch, afternoon happy hour, or brunch, plan for two hours if the party is only for employees, and four hours if the event is for employees and their families.

2. Pick a theme and dress it up!

When it comes to party themes, the possibilities are endless. A few theme ideas include Olympics (since the games will be held this summer), Island Fever, Welcome Back (to work), All American, or a company-branded theme celebrating a milestone.

Once you’ve chosen your theme, create a music playlist to set the mood. Don’t forget to bring speakers and audio equipment. Or, hire a local band to do live music.

Also, consider hiring an emcee to ensure the event runs smoothly and guests are entertained.

3. Order catering from Picnic People.

If you know how many people are coming, it’s a great idea to just order catering, rather than worry about preparing the food and serving it while everyone else is partying. Picnic People has an out-of-this-world BBQ menu, taco menu and Hawaiian food options that will take your party to the next level. Also, be sure to check out San Diego craft beer breweries to give your event a unique flavor!

4. Don’t forget about the games.

If creating and planning games is not something you have time for, don’t sweat it! Picnic People has all the games your

party needs. From Giant Jenga, bingo, and Sumo wrestling, to “Funtathlon”, corn hole, and bggo, Picnic People party planners know exactly how to keep your guests, both adults and kids, engaged and entertained.

Or, if you’d like to keep the event calm and casual, then you can scratch out games — whatever you prefer!
