Tips For Planning Your Next San Diego Beach Party

San Diego is home to some of the best beaches in California, if not the entire US. Nearly year round, the weather is perfect for a beach party. To ensure your next San Diego beach party is a smashing success, here are a few steps you should take in the planning process.

1. Choose a location and make the necessary reservations

There are so many beaches to choose from in San Diego. La Jolla Cove, La Jolla Shores Park, Children’s Pool, Windansea Beach, Mission Beach, Pacific Beach, Tourmaline Surfing Park, Black’s Beach, Mission Bay Park, Torrey Pines State Beach, Mushroom Beach, Ocean Dog Beach, Ocean Beach, and South Carlsbad State Beach are just a few to choose from for your next beach party. The right location for you will depend on the size of your party and what kinds of activities you plan on preparing.

2. Hire a caterer

If you’re hosting a birthday beach party in San Diego, a family reunion, or other special occasion, a catering company like Picnic People could help take care of the food while you focus on celebrating. At Pincic People, we not only take care of food, we can also oversee the entire setup!

3. Select a menu

We offer a few different menus you can choose from, including BBQ, Hawaiian, and Mexican. If you’re in the mood for Hickory Slow Smoked Brisket, St. Louis Style Pork Ribs, or Southern Style Pulled Pork, then check out our Build Your Own BBQ menu. If you’re craving Kalua Pork, Luau Mac Salad, or Hawaiian Chicken, then take a look at our Kamaaina Luau menu.

4. Choose a theme

Summer in San Diego starts in spring (sort of), so feel free to try out any of these themes:

  • Hawaiian
  • Caribbean
  • Nautical
  • Tropical Fruit
  • Mexican

5. Prepare beach-friendly decor

Help set the mood with colorful tablecloths, beach chairs, sea glass, rocks, seashells, and driftwood. You could also search Pinterest boards for more visual inspiration.

6. Bring some shade

Be sure to bring extra sunscreen and colorful umbrellas to give guests a chance to cool down under the shade.

7. Don’t forget music and games!

Last but not least, bring out the games! Board games, limbo contests, beer pong (if it’s an adults-only party), volleyball, and water games are a few games to consider. Be sure to grab good Bluetooth speakers to keep the energy going from start to sundown.
